Questions & answers

Are all programs free?

It varies by program. Many are free, but if there are material costs or outside-agency fees, we let you know before you apply.

Can I take part if I have a different religion?

Yes. We welcome all residents. Faith-related programs are offered only as options, to those who want them.

If I apply, am I guaranteed a spot?

No. We check capacity, volunteers, schedule, and resources, then contact you. If there is no room, you may be placed on a waitlist.

Can a child apply alone?

For participants under 18, a guardian’s name, contact, and required consent are needed.

Do you provide transportation?

Limited transportation may be available when an approved driver and vehicle exist. A request is not automatically confirmed.

Can I apply if I don’t speak English well?

Yes. You can choose your language, or type to your Encounter Friend in your own language.

Can I get a scholarship?

When scholarship or education-support opportunities arise, we can take an interest form so they can be reviewed. A request does not guarantee aid.

Do you provide medical or dental care directly?

We do not guarantee direct medical or dental care. When possible, we connect you with a partner organization or qualified professional.
